Cutting Process
At Lisle Textile, the cutting department plays a crucial role in ensuring precision, consistency, and fabric efficiency across all garment styles. Our cutting process is designed to optimize material usage while maintaining exact measurements as per approved patterns and tech packs.
Cutting Process
- Fabric Inspection & Relaxation: All fabrics undergo a visual inspection for flaws and are relaxed for 12–24 hours before cutting to prevent shrinkage or distortion.
- Layer Spreading: Fabric is spread in multiple layers on large cutting tables using manual and semi-automatic spreading machines to ensure alignment and tension control.
- Marker Making: CAD-based marker plans are created to optimize fabric consumption, reduce waste, and ensure accurate placement of pattern pieces.
- Cutting Execution: Cutting is performed using manual straight knife cutters, band knife machines, and laser or rotary cutters depending on the fabric type and order size.
- Panel Numbering & Bundling: Cut panels are labeled, bundled, and tagged by size and style to ensure easy distribution to stitching lines.
- Cutting QC Check: Panels are randomly inspected for accuracy, alignment, and any fabric defects before moving to the stitching department.
